Sustainable

Sustainable construction can be described as a method of building whereby the environment is damaged as little as possible. Important themes in sustainable construction are energy-efficiency, water-saving and sustainable use of materials. Our materials have been thoroughly tested and guarantee sustainability..

Strong aspects of steel in the context of sustainability are:

• industrially manufactured products, assembled by means of prefabrication;
• an uncluttered, clean construction site;
• a flexible and reversible building method that makes it possible to convert buildings easily to meet altered requirements in terms of layout, installations, walls, etc, thereby increasing the (economic) life span of the building or making steel construction products (e.g. steel beams) reusable in a different building;
• complete recycling;

Innovation

Voortman Staalbouw is well known for its drive to innovate. We are always searching for new and more intelligent solutions. We are constantly working on the further development of our products, possibly in combination with other parties. For example, we have successfully proposed alternatives for steel constructions, preservation operations and roof and wall cladding. We also work closely with our sister company, Voortman Automatisering, a producer of machines for the steel industry, on the computerisation of our production process.
